I love my work!

I love my work! With talented clients doing so many great things, I not only find myself giddy with excitement when coming up with creative solutions to their marketing challenges, but am always deeply rewarded by what I learn from them in the process. Today, for example, thanks to Elizabeth Kang of www.kang-art.com, I learned about everything from Lorenzetti’s use of color, to the experiential aspects of Cezanne’s Le Lac d’Annecy, to Jean-Michel Basquiat’s edgy vision, to Arman’s repeated forms, to color field painting, to the formulaic approach to pricing art in Germany, to the art scene in Berlin, to Liz’s own expression of the color experience of Renaissance master works.Wow! #neuronsfiring #gratitude

OllmannCreative was out in full force in support of the AWC’s Women & Leadership Panel at VW. The speakers included an entrepreneur, corporate execs in finance, IT, diversity, a single mom, NGO leaders – all successful women, all different paths. Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go, the location-based augmented reality game that takes users outdoors to battle Pokemon characters, is bigger than twitter! In just seven days since the game was released in the US, Australia and NZ, Pokémon Go has exceeded Twitter’s 65 million American users, and the game’s servers have repeatedly crashed under the strain of its popularity. Want to get a jumpstart on the game? Check out these 14 tips.

Google/Facebook Advertising Strategy

Google AdWords vs Facebook Ads

Should your business use Google AdWords or facebook Ads? Depends on your goal. If you want to get people straight to your website to buy your products, use Google AdWords. If, on the other hand, you want to build an email mailing list (with a free offer such as an e-book) or build brand awareness, use Facebook. Why? People use google to search for things they need, such as a chiropractor in Brooklyn, or stylist in Berlin, whereas people go to facebook to socialize and so are more likely to react to a soft offer.

Creating a photo book but not sure which service to use?

Some of the services at the consumer end include Shutterfly, Mixbook, Pint Size Productions, and Blurb (for text-heavy books), as well as iPhoto for Mac users. I personally have tried Shutterfly, and have found it to be reasonably good for a basic book. For more detail, check out this cnet review. At the professional end, there is MyPublisher, which offers gorgeous leather covers and thick, glossy paper with layflat pages. The software can be buggy, though, so expect to spend time with tech support.
